Hello, I am Louis
Project manager. Parent. An expat living in Paris, France.
A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn’t in the grand plan. Like many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, different routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
Experiencing culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Maple Crest Studio
Most online guidance was either big-business relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Practical experience gained from life in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when there is a meaningful change
This site is not:
- Not a tourism-board resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not merely a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in France continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.

Louis
